Whether you're staying for the weekend or turning the trip into a little holiday, Galle has so much to offer.

Here are some of our favourite things to see and do while you're in town:

• Galle Lighthouse
  A must-see and one of the most photographed spots in the area. It's especially beautiful in the early morning or late afternoon light.

• Galle Fort
  Get lost (in the best way) exploring this UNESCO World Heritage site - full of cobbled lanes, colonial architecture, ocean views, cafés, and boutiques. Sunset from the fort walls is a must!

• Sea Turtle Hatchery
  Located just outside of town, this is a lovely stop to learn about local conservation efforts and maybe even see some baby turtles if you’re lucky!

• Sahana Restaurant by the Beach
  A low-key local gem and one of our all-time favourites! Don’t leave without trying their faluda, pan rolls, and egg roti (all proudly backed by Moody Foodie of course).
